In the 1980's I started building furniture the old-fashioned way, with mortise and tenon joints and dovetail corners. I was so interested in building and structure that I wanted to transfer that into something bigger. So, in the 1990's I started building and renovating houses, teaching myself all the disciplines involved while sub-contracting the electrical and some plumbing. I also delved into welding, running a shop for 2 years specializing in wrought iron railings for homes. In 2010 I moved to the forest north of Montreal and knew I wanted to work with the trees, so Monolithicpiece was born. In 2015 Monolithicpiece went on hiatus for personal reasons. In 2020 Monolithicpiece was up and running again and the Creator willing, will stay up and running.
